You’re the lone survivor on a spaceship infested by moths and other dangerous creatures. Explore the ship, override quarantine lockdowns, and find a way to escape. Use your radar and other tools to avoid enemies, keep out of the light, sneak around dangers, and find your way forward. But be careful, monsters are lurking around, searching for you, and are aware of your every mistake!
- Fear of the Light was the third group project we did at Futuregames, we were 11 students working on this game for 7 weeks.
- I was the level designer. I also did the game trailer.
- Fear of the Light won Best Tech at the 2024 Futuregames Awards and got nominated for Best Design at the Swedish Game Awards.

Working on this game was a huge learning experience. We did a lot of reiteration and changes to the level design after gameplay tests to make sure we onboarded the player to the mechanics of the game and to make sure it was a cohesive experience.
Behind the scenes
The brainstorming we had as a group that led to this game was so much fun! We had 3 ideas and eventually landed on this one. During development I always felt this game had huge potential and I feel like we delivered on that potential.
