List of Updates

The Awakening has several published game versions that fixed some bugs and added some new features. From version 1.1 onwards the current game version is shown on the menu screen.

I publish all my updates to Newgrounds, Armorgames, Kongregate and my website. Here's a list of some notable updates.

Version 1.1

• I fixed a bug where the "Sleep" button didn’t respond during a key story moment, blocking progression. The issue only affected the button itself, using the Q shortcut or Alt key still worked.
• A version indicator is added in the main menu screen.

Version 3.5

• The answer to the riddle by Agga was changed to 'Light'. In version 2.5 or lower the answer was 'Fire'.
• In version 3.5 I added the Super Hard difficulty that can be accessed by the cheat "Piece of Crap".

Version 4.2

A small update, published December 1st, 2019.

• I changed some text on the Extras page.

Version 4.4

This was a major update released June 29th, 2026.

• I added more skin color options in the character customization menu.
• I fixed several broken external links on the Extras page.
• I fixed bugs where it was difficult to enter some staircases in Bavelock.
• I made some code changes to site APIs that make exporting the game more convient for me.
• I fixed some graphical bugs.

Version 5.0

Version 5.0 was a major update and the last update to the game, published July 11th, 2026.

• The answer to the riddle by Agga was changed again, both 'Fire' and 'Light' are now valid answers.
• I made the player walk by default, and added a running button (CTRL). This is how walking and running worked in the earliest versions of the game.
• I made the walking speed on the overworld slightly slower.
• I made counter attacks more likely to be successful and deal 50% more damage.
• I fixed bugs where it was difficult to enter some staircases in Savina.
• The player's hair is slightly lighter in color by default.
• I fixed an audio bug when executing Omnislash.
• I removed the text in the beginning about switching browsers if you're playing on Google Chrome.
• I changed some error warnings.
• I fixed the external links in the context menu.
• I added a link to this page in the game version indicator text.
